Patty shares memories as we learn Dolly Parton's husband has died

She is, no doubt, one of the most beloved entertainers in the world. Singer/Actress Dolly Parton is also noted for her philanthropic work as well, giving back to children and communities in need.

Over my 50+year career in the media, I have been truly lucky enough to get to meet and interview many celebrities, and that includes the incredible Dolly.  And yes, I admit, I'm a huge fan!!!

I spoke with her on several occasions, including for the movies she was in including:

'Rhinestone' and 'Steel Magnolias'.

So what is Dolly like behind the camera? Here's the scoop...I can tell you she is just as wonderful and compassionate on and off stage!

I traveled to Nashville about six years ago for my last meeting with her and we talked about a new album she had coming out… And I remember sitting down across from here to get ready for the interview and the first thing she said was, "It's so good to see you again Patty, thank you for helping me in my career throughout the years!"

WHAT??!!???

I mean really?! Superstar Dolly is thanking ME??!!!?

We laughed and had a great interview and a wonderful time together and I can  honestly say, she is just as gorgeous on the inside as she is on the outside.

As you know, we just found out that Dolly lost her husband of nearly 60 years recently. We love you, Dolly and you have our sympathy and our hearts.
