Patrick Warburton says Indy movie opening was 'best premiere ever'

Patrick Warburton's 'The Duel' opens Aug. 16.

Patrick Warburton recently attended the world premiere of his latest movie, "The Duel" in Indianapolis. The premiere was a grand affair at the Hilbert Circle Theater that included lead actor Dylan Sprouse and fellow cast members along with local celebrities like author John Green in attendance.

Warburton, who has attended many Hollywood premieres in his career, told our correspondent KJ in an interview on the KJ TODAY Show that this screening was "the best premiere I've ever been at in my life. That big, beautiful theater was full. We had the orchestraThey delivered us in classic cars."

Reflecting on the movie, Warburton shared, "I loved the concept, and I loved the way they wrote it. We're navigating this story, and I felt so much was on the page when I read it." The film, made by Indiana film company Pigasus Pictures, features an incredible cast and is a dark comedy with tragic elements.

"The Duel" was also primarily shot in Indiana during COVID which created some challenges and lasting memories. Warburton recalled his time on set and after hours, telling KJ, "We had a great, great time shooting there. And it was special because it was during COVID. So a lot was shut down, but we were all in a bubble. We all COVID tested every morning, but, you know, at night we could all go out and do a little karaoke and drink together in a barn, you know, because we were allowed to, I guess."

For those interested in watching "The Duel," the movie is set to come out on digital and all platforms on August 16.

Describing the film, Warburton mentioned, "It's a dark comedy and also tragic, you know, but it works."
